Publisher Description
Speech therapy practice for kids that actually works - AI-powered articulation games used by 1,000+ speech-language pathologists and the families they refer.
Is your child working on their R sound? Apraxia? A speech delay? More than 3.4 million American children have speech sound disorders - and the SLPs who treat them are stretched thin, with waitlists growing. Progress takes consistent, accurate practice, in session and every day between them. SpeechLP was built with SLPs to deliver exactly that.
SpeechLP helps children ages 3-9 practice articulation and speech sounds through AI-guided games that make daily practice feel like play. With 1,000+ words covering R, S, TH, L, all consonants, and blends, carryover practice becomes something kids actually ask to do.
"By far the best in-session and at-home articulation games." - Sarah Fleishman, SLP-CCC
WHY IT WORKS
Research published in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research found that children receiving real-time acoustic feedback improved 2.4x faster than those receiving traditional motor-based treatment alone. SpeechLP puts that principle in your child's hands: real-time AI listening delivers gentle, sound-by-sound feedback, so kids hear and correct their own speech in the moment.
Smart voice detection separates their phonetic speech from the game's own music and sounds, so every score reflects a real attempt, and real wins.
KEY FEATURES

Whether your child sees a speech therapist weekly or you're still on a waitlist, SpeechLP gives you a trusted way to practice every day - and to actually see it working. Watch progress climb sound by sound, and record the wins to share with family and your therapist. Just a few minutes a day makes a measurable difference.
FOR SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS
Over 1,000 SLPs use and refer SpeechLP for articulation practice - in session and for carryover at home. Refer and manage clients directly in the platform, track results by sound over time, and connect it with SpeechTherapist.app to instantly generate session notes and much more. You can share in-game recordings with families, and vice versa, so you hear real practice attempts - not just scores.
WHY EARLY PRACTICE MATTERS
Untreated speech sound disorders can affect confidence, reading development, and social outcomes well into adulthood. Early, consistent articulation practice changes that trajectory - and SpeechLP makes it easy to start today.

• FIXED: Replaying an earlier level no longer moves your child's progress back.
• FIXED: Smoother games, animations and sounds throughout. 3.0.0 Oct 7 Better Learn levels, and a client profile therapists can edit.
• THE RIGHT GAME EVERY TIME: A Learn level now opens the game it was given — Treasure Fishing, Star Catcher, Perry In Submarine and the flashcard drill included.
• BLENDS IN LEARN: Levels can target consonant clusters like ST, BL and STR, scored as one whole sound. Before, a level with a blend could go missing from the map.
• LEVELS FOLLOW YOUR CHOICES: Change your child's target sounds and the levels ahead of them are rebuilt to match, ready the next time the map opens.
• THERAPISTS — EDIT A CLIENT: Name, last initial and birth month are editable again on the client page, and saving sends that client's target sounds through to their practice.
• THERAPISTS — BIRTH MONTH ON THE CASELOAD: The birth month you enter is kept with the client, so their words are age-matched wherever you open them.
• FIXED: Accepting a therapist invite now keeps the whole connection, instead of leaving it half-recorded. 2.3.5 Sep 30 Fixes and polish for families and speech therapists.
• ACCOUNT FOR THERAPISTS: Therapists can open Account in Settings again to update their details — without the family-only questions.
• LATEST TARGETS ON REFRESH: Pull down in Settings and your client's newest sounds and blends from speechtherapist.app are applied straight away.
• FIXED: Signing in to a therapist account through the family option no longer turns it into a family account. 2.3.4 Sep 17 Fixes and polish for families and speech therapists.
• YOUR SETTINGS, ON EVERY DEVICE: A parent's target sounds and practice filters now save to your account, so a new phone or a reinstall picks up right where you left off.
• PROGRESS BY CHILD: Therapists with more than one child on their caseload now see whose session is whose — every result is recorded against the right child, and Game History has a filter to switch between them.
• TARGETS FROM YOUR THERAPIST: If your clinician assigns sounds, blends or an age level on speechtherapist.app, the app applies them the next time that child is selected — and remembers which child you had open.
• REFER A FAMILY: The invite link has moved in with your client list, and it now shows the link so you can copy it into your own notes or email — or share it straight away.
• NOT NOW: Told us your child sees a speech therapist but would rather add their details later? Tap "Later" and carry on.
• FIXED: The app could get stuck refreshing on the opening screen for some accounts. It now opens straight to where you left off.
• FIXED: Therapists signing up were sometimes shown the family subscription page instead of the SLP Professional one.
• FIXED: A therapist who opened a family invite link could get stuck on a consent page meant for parents. 2.3.3 Sep 16 A smarter screener, a clearer word card, and 155 new words.
• A SCREENER BUILT FOR YOUR CHILD'S AGE. The screener now picks its word set from your child's age — ages 3, 4 and 5 each get their own sounds, and 6 to 9 share one set. You can change the age before you start, and the cards and speech model are made ready before your child begins.
• 155 NEW FLASHCARDS. Fresh artwork and voiceover for every one, from screwdriver and squirrel to strawberry and sprinkler — with a focus on the trickier sound clusters older children practise.
• THE WORD BANK UPDATES ITSELF. New words and re-rated ages reach your child as soon as our speech therapists publish them — no app update needed. It checks once at launch and never changes mid-game.
• ONE WORD CARD, THREE VIEWS. Swipe the white card to switch between the word, the word with the target letters underlined, and its speech sounds. Each sound turns green as your child says it correctly, so you can see exactly which part of the word landed.
• FOR SLPs: SHARE YOUR INVITE LINK. Send families your connection link straight from Settings, jump to SpeechTherapist.app from your client list, and see which client is loaded right on the home screen.
• MORE WORD-STRUCTURE FILTERS FOR SLPs. Advanced filters gain three-consonant clusters (CCCV, CCCVC, CCVCC), and therapist share links understand them too.
• GENTLER CAMERA PERMISSION. The camera is only asked for when you tap the camera button in a game — the game pauses, asks, and picks up where it left off.
FIXED: Perry's submarine now sits in the middle of the screen with the sea scrolling properly behind him, and he no longer pulls a sad face when a word card simply bounces back for another try. 2.3.2 Sep 11 Back to School Special — and a big, fresh update.
• 1 MONTH FREE, LIMITED TIME. Our Back to School Special runs until Sep 30: start Pro with your first month free, then $20/month, cancel anytime. SLPs get their own Professional page.
• A FASTER START. Sign-up is now a handful of playful, Perry-guided questions — and you land in the app right after. Signing back in on another device skips setup entirely.
• FOR SLPs: YOUR WHOLE CASELOAD. Manage every client from Settings — add profiles with a tap, and each child keeps their own target-sound setup that switches with them.
• CONNECT WITH YOUR THERAPIST AT SIGN-UP. Got an invite link from your SLP? Accept it right inside setup — their suggested target sounds can come along with it.
• A TIDIER GAME SHELF. Practise now shows released games only, with the ones you can play first, newest first — and fresh arrivals wear a red NEW ribbon for their first 10 days.
• GENTLER PERMISSIONS. Just the microphone before your first game, on one clear screen — and everything preloads behind it, so the game opens the moment you continue.
• REMINDERS THAT SET THEMSELVES. The reminder ask now waits until after your first game's results — and saying yes sets a daily 8 PM nudge, adjustable anytime in Settings.
• SMOOTHER SIGN-IN. Checking your email for the code no longer restarts the app, your address is remembered securely, and a copied code pastes with one tap.
FIXED: crashes after signing out mid-sound, on the name step of setup, and right after signing in with an email code. 2.3.1 Sep 8 Smoother flying in Perry Pilot.
• ONE STEADY SPEED. Perry's plane used to stop in mid-air while the word was read out, then rush the last stretch after a correct answer. It now flies at one pace from the moment a card appears to the moment it is answered.
• A BUMP YOU CAN SEE ON A MISS. Running out of time on a word now knocks the plane back off the card, instead of the card quietly disappearing. 2.2.2 Sep 3 Got an offer code? It works right in the app now.
• REDEEM OFFER CODES IN-APP. If our team shared an offer code with you, open Go Pro and tap "Have an offer code?" — the discount applies to your signed-in account right away, celebration included.
• APP STORE REDEMPTIONS COUNT TOO. Entered your code on the App Store instead? The offer attaches to your account the next time you open SpeechLP. 2.2.1 Sep 2 Record the wins, hear them clearly.
• RECORD & SHARE. Tap Record on the pause menu to capture a whole game — your child's voice and the game's sounds, with the background music left out. Watch it, save it to Photos, or share it with family or your child's SLP right from the results page.
• EVERY GAME, ONE RHYTHM. All seven voice games were rebuilt on one engine: the card appears, the word is spoken, and the microphone opens on the same beat in every game, so switching games never feels unfamiliar.
• SHARPER LISTENING. A smarter voice detector now tells your child's speech apart from the game's own music and sounds — cards no longer pass by accident, and the app only ever scores your child.
• FAIRER ON MIDDLE AND END SOUNDS. When the word is clearly said but the target sound sits mid-word or at the end, speech recognition now backs up the sound check, so good attempts aren't missed.
• MUSIC, YOUR CALL. A new in-game button mutes or restores the background music — it stays out of recordings either way.
FIXED: the results screen no longer stutters on arrival, games free their memory fully when you leave, and the celebration sounds line up with the stars. 2.2.0 Sep 1 More free practice, every day.
• 3 FREE LEARN LEVELS EVERY DAY. Your child can start three new Learn levels a day at no cost, and the first five levels are always open. Run out? Come back tomorrow for three more.
• BLENDS HAVE MOVED. Initial and Final Blends now sit under Advanced SLP Filters, between Sound Focus per Word and Syllables. Choosing a blend clears the individual sound grid, so a session practises one kind of target at a time.
• SEE WHAT YOU PICKED. Target Sounds setup now shows a running "X sounds, Y positions, Z blends" summary above Save, so you can tell at a glance what a long list of ticks adds up to.
• THE AGE LEVELS NOW READ "3 YEARS" TO "9 YEARS". Each one still covers that age and everything below it, so "5 years" includes the words a 3 and 4 year old practise too.
• A SIMPLER TOP LEVEL. "All ages" is now "9 years", matching the 3-9 range SpeechLP is written for. A small number of words rated above 9 are no longer offered. If you were on "All ages", your child moves to "9 years" automatically.
FIXED: Alien Cat's celebration no longer replays itself before the next word. 2.1.4 Aug 21 A tidier Age Level list.
• AGE LEVELS NOW RUN 3 TO 9. SpeechLP is written for ages 3-9, so the Age Level list matches. "All ages" still gives your child every word we have, including the hardest ones.
• YOUR CURRENT SETTING CARRIES OVER. If you had chosen a level we no longer show, we have moved you to the nearest one. No child loses words they were already practising. 2.1.3 Aug 16 Small fixes and polish on top of 2.1.1.
• A CLEARER SUBSCRIBE SCREEN. The plan you're looking at stays in view as you scroll, and during sign-up you can tap "Maybe later" to move on.
• Corrected the age range shown on the subscription screen — our word list is written for ages 3-9.
• Groundwork that lets our team preview a new game before it launches, so each release gets a proper check first. 2.1.2 Aug 13 More free practice, and a word bank that grows with your child.
• THE FIRST 5 LEARN LEVELS ARE FREE. Work through them at your own pace — and any level your child has already earned a star on stays unlocked for good.
• A KINDER LOCKED SCREEN. When something needs unlocking, Perry asks your child to fetch a grown-up instead of dropping them on a payment page.
• 1,300 WORDS RE-RATED BY OUR SPEECH THERAPISTS. Practice ages now run from 1 to 13, so older children get vocabulary that stretches them and younger ones see more words pitched at their level. The Age Level filter goes up to 13 too.
• PRACTICE IS A FULL-SIZE CARD CAROUSEL AGAIN. Swipe through every game, one big card at a time.
• A SMOOTHER START. After sign-up your child lands straight on the Learn map and their first game opens by itself.
• FIXED: new accounts could hit the paywall on their very first tap, because the free Learn level wasn't always the first one on the map. 2.1.1 Aug 12 - published new games
